Reviews

"'The Curious Savage" is a warmhearted tale about Ethel Savage, a slightly eccentric and extremely wealthy widow who is committed to a sanitarium by her greedy stepchildren. The current production at Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg is absolutely charming and director Marjorie Bicknell has assemble a fine cast for this enchanting play.

Long before the moment when two people are handcuffed to a radiator, with mummified hands littering the floor around them and an uncaring desk clerk reading a Playboy on a hotel room bed, it’s clear that “A Behanding in Spokane” is not going to be a light comedy.... It takes a good cast to pull this off, because none of the characters is particularly likable and the plot is thin. Little Theatre’s production, directed by Marjorie Bicknell, manages to assemble a strong quartet of actors for the job.

"'Anna in the Tropics' is poignant and memorable for its honesty and rarity.... Director Marjorie Bicknell has taken a tough work about life in an American-based Cuban cigar factory that is threatened by a world of men, money, women and modernization and given us an imaginative, uncompromising look into a world that still exists.
